Joi – Admin and Site Creator
Joi - the site creator, has had a passion for sports – thanks to growing up in a very sports oriented family. From Nascar to NBA and MBA, my father taught me as much as I chose to absorb as early as age 5. Living only a few miles from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, it was nearly impossible to not be a Tarheel fan thanks to the dynamic Michael Jordan.
My father was a Washington Redskins fan when I really started to take notice of the NFL and my natural choice for my own team was the rivals of the ‘skins – the love ‘em or hate ‘em Cowboys.
Even through a transitional life move to Florida as a teenager, I kept my loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. I attended my first NFL game at Texas Stadium in 1998 vs the rival Redskins and was hooked on the game, the team, and the stadium for life.
Although my major in college was graphic design and t.v. production, I became involved in sports broadcasting on a local AM station thanks to a friend I had known for many years. It was by accident that I appeared on the show when one day they asked a question about the NFL’s all time leading rusher – the answer to which I knew – and our phone banter
We named our show “Sports Talk with Kono and MJ” and used my initials as an indirect reference to the great Michael Jordan.
