    I am watching my favorite show of many years, Inside the NFL. This Friday night ritual of mine – thanks mostly in part to the creation and lease of my Comcast DVR, helps to relieve the separation pains felt from football the long 5 days between Monday Night Football and the first one o’clock game on Sunday afternoon. 

    I’ve loved this show for many reasons – and the recent switch from HBO to SHO and reconfiguration of its hosts has me missing Bob Costas and Dan Marino. Never thought I’d say that! In addition to my enjoyment of the personalities and chemistry of the hosts, there’s the “voice guy” from NFL Films, and the excellent team of editors who produce such an amazing recap of the week’s games. So needless to say, it’s taking some getting used to with the new guys. I’ve always liked James Brown and Chris Collinsworth but I feel Phil Simms is a bit too wordy and tends to over-talk the other hosts.

  • This year has an extra element of excitement in the already exciting NFL season. We signed up for a league on NFL.com, thanks to my boss! Throughout the season, you’ll see articles detailing our experiences with Fantasy Football for the first time!

    Week 1

    Our draft for the Fantasy Football league this year was automatic; and was free on NFL.com/fantasy. We don’t currently play for money [obviously] since this is our first season really making a serious go of it. I decided that I would take the advice of another novice to the FF and put wide receivers as my first round draft choice. Not that this was a terrible idea, but there really is an art to the stacking of your draft order to get what you really wanted. Some of our league members really had it down, while I’m still scratching my head.
